To synchronize your balances, trades and orders with Gemini, you need to create API keys that authorize Coffer to connect with your account.
Follow these easy steps to get your Gemini account API keys and add them to Coffer:
- Login to your Gemini account
- Select "Settings" from your Account drop-down menu (top right corner).
- Click on the ''API'' option in the bottom of the left side menu.
- Start the creation of a new API key by clicking on the button “Create a new API key”.
- Enter your authentication code (sent by SMS or your 2fa app).
- Indicate the scope of your API by selecting the option “Primary” before clicking on “Create a new API Key”.
- Gemini will show your API and Secret Keys:
- Name your API with any name you'd like (ex. Coffer - Gemini)
- Make sure to enable “Auditor” and/or “Trading” under the API Key Settings section to only allow read permissions and/or trade permissions.
- Use your API and Secret Key immediately in Coffer (as described in point 8 below), or make sure to copy/paste your Secret Key to a safe place, as it will only be displayed at the time it is created.
If you lose this key, you will need to delete your API keys and create new ones.
- Now go to the Exchange tab in the Coffer app and click on the + sign (top right corner) to add a new connection.
- Select "Gemini" from the list of available exchanges
- On the next screen you can:
- Edit your Connection name (by default we propose the name of the exchange, “Gemini” in this case).
- Paste your API Key and API Secret just generated in your Gemini account..
- Click “Add Exchange” and your new Gemini connection will be synced with.
- Your new connection will show now as available in the list of Exchanges and you’ll see your investments after the sync is complete.
Hopefully you are ready to go!
