To synchronize your balances, trades and orders with Kraken, you need to create API keys that authorize Coffer to connect with your account. 


Follow these easy steps to get your Kraken account API keys and add them to Coffer: 

  1. Login to your Kraken account
  2. Before creating your API keys, make sure you have removed the Global Settings Lock in your Kraken Account.
    1. Select “Security” clicking on your name drop-down menu (top right corner).  
      Click on “Global Settings Lock” under the “Security” sub-menu.
    2. Click on “Remove Global Settings Lock”.
    3. Click on “Unlock now” (remember to lock it again once you are done generating your API keys).
    4. Introduce your 2fa code to “Confirm” the unlock action.
      Note: remember to lock it again once you are done generating your API keys.
  3. Now you can generate your key by clicking the option “API” under the “Security” submenu  (top right corner).
  4. In the API Key management screen click on “Add key”. 
  5. Make sure you enable the correct key permissions before clicking on “Generate Key” button:
    1. “Query Funds”.
    2. “Query Open Orders & Trades”.
    3. “Query Closed Orders & Trades”.
  6. Use your API and Private/Secret Key immediately in Coffer (as described in point 7 below) and click on “Submit”, or make sure to copy/paste your Private/Secret Key to a safe place, as it you can only view your API Private/Secret Key in this step.
    You can also add the keys in Coffer using the “Show QR code” functionality
  7. Now go to the Exchange tab in the Coffer app and click on the + sign (top right corner) to add a new connection. 
  8. Select "Kraken" from the list of available exchanges
  9. On the next screen you can:
    1. Edit your Connection name (by default we propose the name of the exchange, “Kraken” in this case).
    2. Paste your API Key and API Secret (Private Key) just generated in your Kraken account, or
    3. Click on the QR Code  to scan it.
  10. Click “Add Exchange” and your new Kraken connection will be synced with.
  11. Your new connection will show now as available in the list of Exchanges and you’ll see your investments after the sync is complete.
